Eisrael Gomez Realtor - Monterey County Blog

Attention all clients and visitors, if you know anyone who is late on their mortgage payments, please ask them to read this article. There is a high probability they will be contacted by someone making promises that sound great.  As the mortgage "meltdown" continues the predators will become very creative.  This article highlights how creative they can be:

Orange County Register: Let the borrower beware!

Homeowners;  if you receive a letter telling you that your loan has been sold and that you should begin sending your payments to another address, beware!  Please contact your current lender immediately and confirm that the letter is in fact from your bank/lender.  Predators have begun using this as a ploy to divert borrowers payments to the fraudulent company rather than to the actual bank.  Most borrowers are unaware until they get a notice of default.  Some have lost their homes as a result of not being able to "catch up" the lost or late payments.

If you know anyone who could benefit from this information, please pass it along to them.  Also, please continue to call or email me with all your great questions or suggestions for my Monterey County Blog.  They have been wonderful!  Keep them coming!
